2nd & 5th Batch - Different Config?

Hi All,

I have 2 vegas, one from the 2nd batch and another from the 5th, however I'm having trouble getting them both configured the same.

I set up my 1st vega (from the 2nd batch) exactly how I would want it, flashing the 1.04 system image from myadventvega and then applying the r4 custom rom + pp & everything went perfectly. However I noticed that the camera image was mirrored, but this was something I could live with.

Now I've got round to upgrading the vega from the 5th batch I'm having trouble getting it exactly the same - this batch originally came with the 1.04 system image preinstalled although when looking at the kernel version from 'settings > about device' I noticed that the date was slightly later than the 25/11/2010 for the system image downloaded from myadventvega, so I decided to apply r4 custom rom +pp directly, particularly as the mirrored camera image issue had been resolved. Unfortunately although this upgrade seemed to work correctly, performance seemed sluggish when compared to the vega from batch 2, the notification bar was filling the entire screen when pulled down and the camera issue had returned (obviously).

So now performance was an issue and as I'd lost the fix for the mirrored image, I decided I should flash the system image from myadventvega before applying Pauls r4 +pp. This all worked perfectly, but unlike the batch 2 vega I still have a huge notification bar.

So I decided to compare the settings > about device:

2nd batch vega:

Any ideas why the EC versions are different? And what exactly is an EC version?

So how can I reduce the size of the notification bar in batch 5 vega?

Ok, I got the notification bar back to normal width when pulled down (i.e. with transparent sides) by flashing r4 again.

However the EC version is still 1.0.0 on the 5th batch machine, while 1.8.0 on the 2nd.

What is the EC version? I tried googling it, but nothing found.
