Guest Arr Too Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I copy my backup files to /system/app from my computer and set all apk files with 644 permission. Permissions should be 755 (at least).
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I can't use Clockwork to recovery my system. why can't you use clockwork ?
Guest Arr Too Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I can't use Clockwork to recovery my system. If ClockworkMod doesn't work on your V880 (?) then you may be able to use fastboot (hold down Up vol button when booting, which should leave the green Android on screen): use Tom G's images.
Guest kk_ray Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Permissions should be 755 (at least). I tried it, but no effect.
Guest kk_ray Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 why can't you use clockwork ? My blade is a smple machine,Paul's new ROM was came from my machine and Paul's recovery.img can't work on my phone.
Guest Arr Too Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I tried it, but no effect. I don't think there's anything in /system/app that needs a different permission, so maybe you've not replaced everything? Or maybe deleted something in another directory? The simplest thing may be to backup what you have now, and then start again with Tom G's plain images to get back to a working system.

NO, it dosen't work.My blade can't use fastboot. I had try to use flash_image to flash all recovery.img I could find, but no one can work.
Guest Arr Too Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 (edited) NO, it dosen't work.My blade can't use fastboot. You can get into FTM mode (Vol- held down on booting), but not into fastboot mode (Vol+ held down on booting)? You know that fastboot mode just looks like it is stuck on booting? The green Android just stays on screen? If the V880 isn't being recognised by your PC (or Mac) then maybe try installing the USB drivers, or try the Linux Live CD option. Perhaps you need the Windows USB drivers modifying to recognise the V880? Edited December 14, 2010 by Arr Too

Yes, I can get into FTM mode when I hold VOL- on booting. But when I hold VOL+ on booting ,it just show green Android a little while, and then goto bootscreen. I don't know how to modify the USB driver.
Guest kk_ray Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I can use "adb shell" to access the system, and use SuperOneClick to root it,but I can't find the sdcard, what can I do with this?
Guest Lew247 Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 (edited) if its a 2.2 rom using adb the sd cards is /mnt/sdcard not sure about 2.1 roms Edited December 14, 2010 by Lew247
Guest kk_ray Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 if its a 2.2 rom using adb the sd cards is /mnt/sdcard not sure about 2.1 roms I'm 2.2,sdcard not be mounted,so I just can pull files to my computer.
Guest Arr Too Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I'm 2.2,sdcard not be mounted,so I just can pull files to my computer. You could use flash_image on the phone itself (from the phone's shell after using "adb shell"), but you'd need to get the system.img onto the phone, and the best place to put that would be on the SD card. :) But you could use this route to flash a better recovery image, if you can find one that works on the V880 (or you can extract one from a friend's phone?). flash_image examples here and here.

How can you run "adb shell" if the phone is boot looping? Do you mean you can run "adb shell" when in FTM mode?
