Putting Vega Into Recovery Mode Without Using Buttons!

Ok so heres the problem, the back button on my vega doesn't work in fact when i press it there doesn't even seem to be a switch underneath! It isn't sprung like the power button for instance. Its been like this since i received it but given the hassle i had getting hold of one i've been reluctant to part with it . After reading the forum i've re-assigned the volume buttons as back and menu so functionally the Vega is perfectly usable. I've even installed Pauls mod pack have access to the market etc and I have to say think the vega is,a great bit of kit made even better by Pauls efforts. The problem is there are now new firmware updates available and without the original back button it seems impossible to get the vega into recovery mode to install the new firmware. Does anyone know of a way to get the vega into the correct state to install the new firmware without using the buttons? Given the problems people seem to be having getting into recovery mode even with working buttons I suspect the answer is no and the vega is destined for return to pc world tomorrow but thought its worth asking the question! If it does have to go back is there an easy way to remove Pauls mods prior to taking it back?

Thanks Tony

As I understand it, there is the android recovery mode which can be accessed without the buttons, and the nvidia flashing mode used by nvflash and the advent full updates which cant. I dont believe there will be a simple alternative method of reaching the nvidia flashing mode which I susopect sits under androids normall bootloader. I don't know where those keymappings reside. The question is can you adapt advents updates to be installable at a hgher level using clockwork mod for example. Ill let someone else answer that one. Personally,I'd return it.

Its all boxed up and ready to go back. The only thing that concerns me is that it has Android Market and other Paul enabled goodies installed, is there any easy way to remove these and return to the stock Rom contents? Do I even need to remove these?

You're not going to like this, but yes, there is.... but only if you can get into recovery mode....

I don't think they will have a problem taking it back - the button is broken in hardware, it's nothing top do with the software!

If it was anyone other than PC World we were talking about I`d agree with you but I`ve dealt with their returns process before :)

I`ll take it back and see what they say, I`ve removed everything from the home screen so it looks stock at first glance. Then I guess I`m going to have to go through the pain of trying to order a replacement :)
