Guest technomaniac Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 (edited) Hi all, I thought I was doing very well with my new phone. I managed to get the hedgehog rom up and running without help, I was very pleased as this is my first android phone. The problem I have is that I can not get it to go onto my network, it just says no service. I have entered the unlock code and that went fine. Please can someone help me to get this working with my Vodaphone sim (pay monthly). I will also be using an orange pay as you go sim somtimes aswell. Thanks very much Techno Edited December 14, 2010 by technomaniac
Guest Odes1 Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Is your SIM seated properly in the phone?
Guest Azurren Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Could be a problem with the rom, to rule that out try making a nandroid, wipe then install another rom (Modacos Froyo r3 / 4) You don't have to install the recover (Clockwork) again Sorry I can't be of much help atm, I'll have another look when I get home if no one else has solved it for you :)
Guest technomaniac Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 hi , thanks for your replies. The sim card looks to be fitted ok. I have tried both orange and vodaphone sim with same problem. I have put the stock orange rom back on and it is still the same. When I search for a network it just says network busy please try later. Anyone else had this? Thanks techno
Guest kuji Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Sorry to ask this.. do you actually have signal where you are ?? have you gotten signal in another phone? I would try this outside to make sure... also try my fix for the sim which is wedge a little paper on top of the simcard.. I use 3* sticky label as it was just not snug enough.. all fine now...

I will try the paper trick but it seems snug enough to me. Does anyone know how to uninstall the clockwork mod just in case i need to send it back. Thanks again all. techno edit : I tried to put a piece of paper in with the sim and it is to tight to grt it in so i think sim is seated snug enough Edited December 15, 2010 by technomaniac
Guest technomaniac Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 anyone know how to uninstall the clockwork software?
Guest samjam Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 anyone know how to uninstall the clockwork software? You can get a stock recovery image from here: http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.p...very-images.zip Unzip it, then you use fastboot to write it: ./fastboot-linux flash recovery recovery.blade.stock.img it worked for me. (adjust the fastboot command for your OS)
