Guest Exlo Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) Hi. Tried to search both MoDaCo and XDA, and did find some similar problems, but solutions where not helpful :) I think the problem started after my Desire was S-OFF. S-Off process went without any problems, but now the phone is not recognized by any of my computers. When i plug in my Desire, there is no meny, but it charges. This is what i have tried: *In menu: Connect to PC - Tried all alternatives *In Bootloader: The PC tries to install "Android 1.0", but fails(cannot find driver) *In Fastboot: The PC tries to install "Android 1.0", and successfully installs driver and renamed it to "My HTC" *In RA-Desire-v2.0.0 Recovery: Can not recognize device - Unidentified USB *In RA-Desire-v2.0.0 Recovery: USB-MS toggle kinda works. press USB-MS then change USB port on PC, then it shows up. *When plugged to PC while phone boots up: Qualcomm CDMS Technolgies MSM tries to install - Can not find driver After this tried to install, "Unknown Device" tries to install driver, but fails. *HTC Sync has been installed and uninstalled many times, both ver. 2.x and 3.x *All USB drivers have been uninstalled and enabled/disabled with and without internet connection *Have also tried to download drivers found on internet, in recovery packages, root tools/guides, etc... Where is the problem? Was S-OFF the reason? Anybody else experiencing the problem? What have i missed? Here is my setup: Rooted with 14/Jun r6 riskfreeroot ROM - 22/Oct r9 - WITH SENSE Recovery - RA-Desire-v2.0.0 Radio ver. 32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14 S-OFF AlphaRev 1.5 PC: Windows 7 x64 2x Laptop: Windows 7 x86 Regards, Exlo Edit: I have also tried some other roms, but with the same problem... Guest bpivk Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 I have this problem and it's because I have a Windows 7 x64 system. Try on a different computer and check if it will work. It works fine on my laptop with 32bit windows 7 but makes exact same problems (something to do with drivers for x64 systems I guess) on my PC.
Guest Exlo Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 2x Laptop: Windows 7 x86 Does not work on any of my win7 32-bit laptops either :)
Guest bpivk Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Odd. And sorry I've missed that. I think it's a driver problem because the phone is still recognized. Did you try to uninstall htc sync software, leave the drivers and then connect the phone?
Guest Mr Taylor Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Did you plug the usb lead into the phone with it connected to the pc, whilst in recovery?
Guest Exlo Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) *HTC Sync has been installed and uninstalled many times, both ver. 2.x and 3.x *All USB drivers have been uninstalled and enabled/disabled with and without internet connection Yes, HTC sync has been uninstalled, and i have connected and unconnected many times, with and without Sync or any other drivers! Nothing new happens! *In RA-Desire-v2.0.0 Recovery: Can not recognize device - Unidentified USB Same thing, plug/unplug... Edit: Oh, none of this doesnt explain why i dont get the connection menu on the phone(charge only, sync, etc..) or it that only if drivers are present? Edit 2 : Just installed WinXP 32-bit on one of my laptops, and nope, same problem, and have tried all above... Edited December 15, 2010 by Exlo
Guest Exlo Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Thanks for all the "help" :) Did find the answer over @XDA, and I see now that MoDaCo has a similar one!
