xvid movies on froyo?

Hello,

I just updated my dell streak to the much anticipated android 2.2 (froyo) on my dell o2 locked streak.

Now, I thought that xvid was going to finally work on this?.. but I cant get it to play xvid movies.

I know you can use players such as rockplayer, but I want/need the dell stock player, the system itself, to recognize and play xvid movies. Else the purchase 5 months ago of the docking station is totally useless, as only the dell media player will recognize the dock and let you output media to your tv.

Anyone got xvid to work on froyo without players such as rockplayer? anyone got their dock to work with it?

Use this ( http://www.freemake.com/ ) video converter and try to convert your divx files to mp4.

but thats what ive been doing but it defeats the purpose plus it does lower the quality.

i just noticed that froyo at least plays main and high profiles, not only baseline as earlier android. thats a plus at least i guess. still can see quality loss :)
