Formatted my SD, but it won't mount /sdcard *FIXED*

Hi,

I'll go straight to the point: I formatted the 2GB SD card that came pre-installed in my Orange San Francisco and now I'm not able to mount /sdcard on it anymore from ClockworkMod Recovery (2.5.0.9).

Here's what brought me to this:

- rooted my handset with Universal Androot Root App

- installed ClockworkMod Recovery (2.5.1.3) through fastboot

- tried installing 2.2 Froyo custom ROM, but didn't work

- installed ClockworkMod Recovery (2.5.0.9) instead

- installed 2.2 Froyo custom ROM, successfully

- tried installing Orange's stock ROM to see if I could go back to the original settings, failed

- followed somebody's suggestion on this forum to format the SD card in case I had problems installing a ROM

- formatted with Mac OS X's Disk Utility, Windows XP's default formatting software, SD Formatter 3.0 and Partition Wizard Home Edition

- tried 1 FAT32 partition, 1 FAT16 partition and even 1 FAT32 + 1 Ext2 partition

The card seems to be successfully formatted, but when I go back to my ClockworkMod Recovery screen and I choose "format /sdcard" all I get is this

ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.9 (MoDaCo r2)

Formatting SDCARD:...

E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)

(Invalid argument)

Error mounting /sdcard/!

Skipping format...

Done.

Just to clarify, whenever I access it from Windows XP or Mac OS X, the SD card seems to be formatted properly (e.g. I can copy ROM files into it).

I've searched the forums about this for the whole afternoon, but maybe I overlooked something so if I did please point me in the right direction. Any help with this is much appreciated!

All the best,

Nicolò

--------------

UPDATE: I used ClockworkMod Recovery's partitioning system, then executed a data/system wipe... and now the SD card seems to be mounting properly! Next step: getting myself a new ROM :)
