Guest Schejtan Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 not help exactly but surely if its doing that straight out of the box the most sensible thing would be to take it back and get a replacement. the problem is: I live in Germany and it was bought in Switzerland. Are there any other possiblities to fix?

Guest Schejtan Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 thx. already found that post. i hope someone has the ultimate idea how to fix without sending it back to ch. Info from ok mobile in ch: i need an adress in ch where the phone will be sent to after repairing. so i cant return it. is there no possibility to fix the bootloader?
Guest Arr Too Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 You could try to see if you can get into fastboot mode. And maybe do various flashing to see if that provokes it into life, but they [or you!] may (or may not) consider that as invalidating your warranty -- perhaps they have a phone helpline that could advise you whether you can try that? It ought to work out of the box and not need any fiddling with.
Guest Schejtan Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 i got fastboot installed on my pc as i already flashed a uk blade for a relative. the problem is that i cant establish a usb connection to the broken blade. any ideas?
Guest The Soup Thief Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 the broken blade I think that's your clue If you've already had one blade talk happily to your computer using this set up, and hte current one is not establishing a connection, I would be concerned that there might be something wrong with this handset Rather than risk compounding a complex problem I'd be sorely tempted to ring Austrian customer services - if they can't help (probably won't be able to, if Orange UK customer services are anything to go by) then maybe find an Austrian friend and try and and get a replacement shipped to their address - i guess it must have been registered to an Austrian address in the first place? That would be my starting point
Guest Schejtan Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 it`s Switzerland (CH) :) someone living in Germany near the border to CH bought it. He bought it using a German adress. Due to this constellation it is not possible to send the repaired one to a CH-adress. I also ask the costumer service if i can fix it on my own. answer: no. The call center agents dont care about individual problems.
Guest The Soup Thief Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Sorry - meant Swiss rather than Austrian - my bad When I bought mine (Orange UK) I had to give them a UK address (my mum's) - surprised the Swiss company were happy to see it go to someone giving a foreign (German) address Sounds tricky - was it ever seen booting? For example, by the guy that bought it on your behalf? If so, then at least I guess you know you've got hardware that functioned initially, which is better than the current situation where it might have been duff from the start Good luck - hope someone smarter than me comes by and gives you the answer you need Edited December 16, 2010 by The Soup Thief
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 i suppose you already have tried to boot it without sd card ?

Guest Schejtan Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) i suppose you already have tried to boot it without sd card ? yes. i booted also without sd card and tried many other combinations ( charging, removing card then and the other way around and so on..) the package was sealed. noboby opened it before. and yes it was never seen booting. it stuck right out of the box i also tried fastboot. seems as the usb conn cant be established. Guest shadowninty Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Maybe "moving home" doesn't invalidate a European warranty? I dont think there is an EU warranty system unfortunately :)
Guest Schejtan Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 i dont have any ideas what to do. or i have to sell it on ebay as broken.
Guest Schejtan Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 another observation: the back key shines red after swichting on and stays red. does this help to analyse the problem?
Guest Arr Too Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Duff battery? Maybe try running it on just USB power (take the battery out)?
Guest peakki Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Have you considered this? 1. Find friend/friend's friend who live in ch. 2. Change the address which phone has been registered to, with address where person from ch lives. 3. Use ch customer service to repair/replace your phone. I assume phone gets mailed to address in ch after that. 4. Pay your friend to send phone to you by mail and little extra perhaps for his/hers troubles. Sorry, haven't got the time to verify if my assumptions are right, best of luck to you!
