Guest studjuice Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) I flashed this rom onto my new liquid, using acer download tool 3.1. After using it, I realized I didn't have root anymore, so I went to malez to get root. Then I realized I didn't have malez anymore (since it overwrote it). So I went to reinstall malez the same way I used to and it would not work. Immediately after displaying the malez splash screen it would reboot and go back into the ferrari rom. That's when I looked into superboot... I tried using superboot to install malez. I ended up with two different versions of superboot, one of them would not even get to the malez splash screen, and when I went to use the other it it rebooted, and now my phone will only show the "Acer" name and then reboot. I can't get any fastboot/adb commands to work, I can't get any hardware button combos to work. If I take out the battery and try to boot it, into recovery, fastboot, or just regularly, I get vibration feedback but that's all I get. I have a bad feeling about this. Any Ideas? Edit: I just pushed Vol -, camera, power with the battery removed and the usb connected, and got: " Partition Checksum splash1:chksum =8ba9da08 OK boot:chksum=338dd7f1 !=001ed108 **fail** recovery:chksum=2b8b7b4b !=00216b18 **fail** system:chksum =00000000 OK ====== <<FAIL>>" Edited December 16, 2010 by studjuice
Guest Koki1337 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Ferrari version has their own version of Malez. Did you get that right?
Guest studjuice Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Ferrari version has their own version of Malez. Did you get that right? Nope... :/ I was dumb and assumed that since I didn't have the Ferrari version of the phone then I would still use the same recovery. Didn't think the rom would make me need the ferrari version of the recovery.. Is there anything I can do though?
Guest Koki1337 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Which part are you stuck at now? Try getting into the OS again to get the new recovery in again?
Guest ahsid Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Power + Volume up + camera (while unplugged of course) might make it recognizable again by Odin so you can flash it. Edited December 16, 2010 by ahsid
Guest HustlinDaily Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 What happens when you do Volume Down+Power+Camera while unplugged?
Guest HustlinDaily Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Scratch that. Recovery is while unplugged, remove and replace battery. Hold down Volume - & Power & Camera. You should get 2-4 vibrations. Let go, then hold down Power+Camera. That should get you into recovery but since your recovery doesn't work, no idea what'll happen. Have you tried Fastboot? 1. Remove battery and replace battery. 2. plug in PC-connected USB cable 3. Camera button + "<" then Power. If you are lucky, you can get the Acer Tool to recognize the phone while in fastboot and flash a new ROM.
Guest split2th Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Ferrari version has their own version of Malez. Did you get that right? s*** man. I would have assumed the ferrari addition wouldn't have made a difference. I thought it was the same device, with a different case. Does your computer detect the phone at all? In my experience that's all it takes to get a good bin flash(my limited experience).

I totally have no idea. I'm using a Liquid E but I saw the FERRARI version of Malez when I downloaded it off the main website Guess you'll have to remember what bin you flashed.
Guest studjuice Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Power + Volume up + camera (while unplugged of course) might make it recognizable again by Odin so you can flash it. this makes two vibrations, screen stays off. but the computer makes a sound like it recognizes usb plugged in, but doesn't actually recognize anything. is there a different driver for this? This is the only thing that has gotten the phone to do something different
Guest Thmz159 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 I thought benhaam had a tool for something like that, but he may not give it to other people...

This is the only thing that has gotten the phone to do something different The thing is that I don't have a Liquid anymore so I can't test it, but that's how I managed to get mine back from a brick. Maybe you didn't install all the necessary drivers the first time ? By the way, if my memory is correct, your phone should be recognized by the Acer tool and nothing else when in that mode (fastboot ?). Of course, there will be a notification in Windows, but the main idea is to see the phone in the Acer tool. PS : forget about what I said about Odin, lol, that's a Samsung tool ^^ Edited December 16, 2010 by ahsid

Thank god for the world still having people who don't overlook the small details :) I was too concentrated on doing everything manually and command line... so it worked, kinda. At the very end of acer download tool it asked me for a Qcn file? I didn't have one so pushed cancel, and it said "error no qcn file found, needs restoring" or something like that. but i went and tried to boot the rom anyways.... and it worked ;) So now I'm back to that same ferrari rom. Can someone tell me what I should go about doing to do the RIGHT way of getting malez to work with this rom? Cause I don't want to go off and try the ferrari version of malez on this device after all that, unless someone recommends it first.

So my guess is getting Malez recovery for Ferrari version itself
