Hi,

I still have the original O2 1.6 (build 3883, baseband 421). I never upgraded to 2.1 or rooted my streak. I am still getting the " No update available" message in the browser when I check tnrough system updates. I have just downloaded the official O2 2.2 (319) rom using the direct link through stock browser in 1.6. I would appreciate if anyone could advise whether it is safe to apply it directly from the browser to update from 1.6 to 2.2. Cheers..

Rename it update.pkg

Stick it on the sdcard, go into recovery and update. Do dell backup first!

If you don't get a different (2nd) flash screen with an android, and existing apps are there still afterwards, then drop back into recovery and reflash it.

The 1.6 recovery doesnt seem to flash it 100%

But it does flash the 319 recovery which does work to flash it fully..

But tbh why not flash 8105 first, that does upgrade

Hi All,

Thanks for your advise. I am unable to update it despite trying the following :) :

1. OTA update with build 3883 and 421:

"Stuck on installing the update" &"Stuck on Dell Logo" once restarted manually

2. update.pkg update with build 3883 and 421:

"Open Install_Image Fail" message & "Stuck on Dell Logo" once restarted for both O2 2.1 8105 and O2 2.2 319

3. update.pkg update with build 4399 and 421 (Recovered 4399 using update.pkg):

"Open Install_Image Fail" message & "Stuck on Dell Logo" once restarted for both O2 2.1 8105 and O2 2.2 319

4. update.pkg update with build 4399 and 421 (Recovered 4399 using update.pkg and installed 4399 stock recovery through fastboot):

"Open Install_Image Fail" message & "Stuck on Dell Logo" once restarted for both O2 2.1 8105 and O2 2.2 319

5. OTA update with build 4399 and 421:

"Stuck on installing the update" & no change to 1.6 4399 once restarted manually

I have done factory reset multiple times and tried to do OTA update with both 3883 and 4399 several times. I am unable to even update to O2 2.1 8105. Streak is working ok with 4399 otherwise.

My baseband version is still showing GAUSB1A110421-EU. My emergency recovery screen is showing GAUSB1A110421.

Is there anything else I can try to get the official O2 update. Any advise would be appreciated.

Flashed stock 4399 recovery again and tried to update to 6941. I am getting the "Open Install_Image Fail" message and it is stuck on Dell Logo, once restarted.

Is it worth updating the baseband? Would I be able to go back to 4399 (the only working build), if I update the baseband and try a different recovery tool (clockwork etc.). Some people with similar issues are claiming success using the QDL tool. However, it doesn't seem to include the official O2 319 firmware at the moment.

it's risky but I think it would go

flash full rom via fastboot recovery 309 + 2.2 untouched

after this factory reset

if you did and all it s ok the rest is child's play..

Thanks ali_alex..

Unfortunately, I am still stuck and things are much worse. I am getting a blank screen after flashing 309 recovery and can't flash anything with it. I went back to 4339 stock recovery and flashed the individual 2.2 files through fastboot (untouched method) and did a reset. However, I had the "stuck on Dell logo" issue. I flashed 4399 back using the update.pkg method with stock recovery. Now, I have blinking LED problem and the phone (network + data +wifi) doesn't work in 1.6. The baseband is unknown.

Am I missing something here.Is there anything else I can try. It used to be so much easier to flash windows mobile. All I wanted was just to move from completely untouched O2 1.6 to official O2 2.2 :) . I got it within the first week of launch from 02. Should I return it to 02/Dell.

Any help would bve appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Any thoughts please....

Tried flashing O2 2.1 again with no success :( .Still facing the "stuck on Dell logo" issue. Is it possible to revert to the original baseband for 4399. Please advise.

Thanks a lot...
