Hi there,

I own a Kingson 16gb class 6 card. However it's size is coming up as 14.7GB. I have an EXE partition, but as I remember it is only about 500mb. Could someone please tell me how to format my card back to 16gb please and merge the EXE partition?

One of the other reasons I am doing this is because I keep getting stuck at the HTC white screen following an install of new ROMs and have had to restore back to an old NanoDroid backup. Any advice on this topic would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

if it was me I would probably, just put the ubuntu cd in my drive, boot off it, run ubuntu without any changes to your computer, connect your desire mount ur sdcard then run gparted or you could download Acronis Disk Director Suite not sure if the demo is any use, and I only have a copy of version 10, which if you have ext2/ext3 partition will work fine, version 11 may support ext4 I really couldn't say. There are more advanced methods but I wont get into them for that google is ur friend.

If the SD Card business works like the Hard drive business, they'll be advertising 1GB as 1000MB And 1MB as 1000 kilobytes.

When you use the (correct) 1024, you get a fair bit less space than advertised.

Actual Space = (((16GB / 1.024)/1.024)/1.024) = 14.901161194

Thanks guys. I finally solved the issue. Looks like the EX partition was the issue when I went from MRC R9 to a Desire HD ROM. The boot loops started when I tried to install R9 again. This is how I solved it:

Take the battery out and hold the power and volume down key when starting up.

Boot in recovery

Mount storage/SD. Backup anything you need on your machine

Then use paragon partition manager to remove and merge the partition.

Placed a ROM on my card, boot in recovery and flash the new ROM

Everything is working fine now!

@Normola - So the whole SD card size thing sounds like a bit ofa scam to me. Oh well. :)
