Guest insurgente Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 I'm sure like many of you I've bought this phone to be unlocked and used on a different network... As one is forced to buy Orange credit, anyone got any tips on some stuff to use it on? I think Orange wednesday is about 35p per text, but what to do with the rest? I've seen people mentioning that you can donate it to charity, but could someone point me in the direction of such a charity? Can you buy apps with credit, or just credit card (i'm a n00b...my first smart phone!)
Guest Gryphonic Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 I'm in a simillar situation - or will be when my giffgaff sim finally arrives. You can't buy apps from the market place with it The only useful thing i can think of doing with it is donating it - i think lots of charities have number you can text that will donate money from your credit

Guest Arr Too Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Hmm... wouldn't it be great if MoDaCo could take donations/subscriptions this way?
Guest Mit321 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 You can transfer it to someone else on PAYG Orange, its what I did. Overall I had about £20 of credit including the "forced" Orange top up with the SF so I sold it to a mate for like £10/15ish. Win-Win situation :)
Guest targetbsp Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Hmm... wouldn't it be great if MoDaCo could take donations/subscriptions this way? That would be very cool. I'd donate my £10 credit for an Ad Free sub. :) I'll probably just get an Ad Free sub anyway when the whole locked touchscreen thing is figured out. Until them I'm still on my own cleaned up stock rom. :)
Guest Sebastian404 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 locked touchscreen thing is figured out. What locked touchscreen thing?

Guest targetbsp Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) What locked touchscreen thing? The people who have to take their battery out because their touchscreen doesn't work on some occasions when they wake it up. On the Froyo roms. Locked touchscreen was kinda bad wording on a device where you lock and unlock the display I spose. :) I was referring to 'locked up' as in how you'd describe software that's not responding. Guest Niks10 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 How do you transfer it to another PAYG number? You need to speak to Orange Customer Care team and they can transfer credit from One SIM to another for you.
Guest Sasimikun Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 It'd be great if everybody donated their 10 pounds to charity. It's almost christmas after all.

I used up all my credit buying games for my phone and then didn't have enough credit to phone customer services for a PAC code and had to top up!
Guest NorthernNoel Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 I got an email when I bought the phone saying that the topup failed. Oh well they didn't charge me the £10 :)
