Guest LiquidEr Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Hi ! which one is the best, in your opinion ? :) (and why, possibly)
Guest bais Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Well I'll sum it up for you. LCR: -All hardware working. -Stable -Faster than stock bin. -UI Customization (Mix Acer UI and Android UI stuff) -Useful LCR Settings app with theme management, tweaks and bug fixing options. CM 6.1: Basically all the CM goodness, like many customization settings, much better gallery (it's gallery 3D but it loads freakin' fast and the pic quality is great), changing User Agent in browser, overscroll like on Iphone, Reflow after the use of MT in browser (actually love that one) and other I don't mention... -Smoother and faster than LCR. -Stock Android Experience (stock dialer, no Acer apps at all) -Some bugs: Wifi tethering requires Liquid Tether app, Wifi battery drain is high while phone is locked. Battery life if you don't use Wifi is kinda the same with both ROMs, if you use Wifi, on CM 6.1 you better disable wifi when you don't use it. Edited December 16, 2010 by bais
Guest LiquidEr Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 thank you bais for your reply :) you seem to vote up for CM ;) ps: what's the overscroll and the MT in browser ?!? merci beacoup mon ami :D
Guest bais Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Well, I currently use CM, because I'm all for speed and I can deal with the actual bugs. But LCR is definitely more stable and functional since all the hardware is working. You just have to decide what is most important for you. About Reflow after use of the MT (Multitouch) is basically when you zoom using Multitouch, the browser adapt the text (so you don't have to scroll right to read the sentences), while usually it adapt the text only when you double tap. Overscroll, well, on the Iphone, Samsung Galaxy S or MIUI, when you scroll in a list and when it reaches the bottom or the top of that list, there's a bounce elastic effect. Basically it's just that, eye candy stuff.
Guest LiquidEr Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Ok thank you. I also found out that there isn't an 'official' Cyanogenmod port for the Liquid...
Guest Nesli Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 And how about a Light and prox. sensors, are they working on CM? I hear stability on Liquid CM is bad :)
Guest Rufy93 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 And how about a Light and prox. sensors, are they working on CM? I hear stability on Liquid CM is bad :) I use the roggins version of cm6. So far in two weeks I had three "random"reboots, but I have figured out that it is because of the bluetooth. I find it to be very buggy with bluetooth.
Guest Ryojin Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Hey there, I've havn't use LCR yet, however I've just try out the Cyanogen today and wasn't really impress. A few apps kept force closing, and work after awhile, and force close at time. There was alot of setting, but most arn't very useful, at least to me. There was alots of apps pre-install which isn't so great. VoiceSearch don't seem to work, even install another .apk Poor keyboard. Accessing Internet/Market seem pretty slow for some reason. Cyanogen do have some new stuff which is great, but slow market/internet access and force close of apps, pisses me off all day. So far of all the rom I've use, LS is the best to me. It run MUCH faster than Cyanogen "ON MY PHONE" and in my opinion :-) not alots of bug, few bug and are "MINOR" one at start of installing rom, which is no big deal, compare to cyanogen, nice, layout, Love the modded version of HTC_IME keyboard. CLEAN rom, few apps come pre-install, every1 of em are very useful "1 MAJOR problem is that its running 2.1" instead of 2.2 froyo. Well, its just my though and suggestion, perhaps you wanna try both and see it to your liking. BTW: any1 find lots of pics or video about LCR rom, please reply, I wanna see what's it like, couldn't find any screenshot or video, thanks in advance Edited December 16, 2010 by Ryojin
Guest marcolino123 Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 I have used LCR, very very stable, but not fast as Froyo-Metal!!!Froyo-Metal is the best rom i've ever used!!!Stable, very very fast and no 1 bugs, nor fc!!Naturaly is my opinion,but.....use this rom :)
Guest xdxdxdxdxdx Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 i think cm is better than lcr at present..offical 2.2 of liquid a1 havent open source.so liquid can't oc and get some benefit after open source at present.768mhz is too slow when multitask, game and view website.
Guest Harness Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 I disliked Liquid CM roms in general. I think CyanogenMod is a great idea and I love the work done for the liquid because of it, but the ROM itself is sketchy. Between the two I like LCR more.
Guest Koki1337 Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 I'll go for LCR... Cyanogen has too many bugs
Guest LiquidEr Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Can't they work on a better release of Cyanogenmod :) I am sure they can and they are able...
