Remove the battery, try it on mains with the battery out (Then try it). Try charging it it for a few hours (Then try it)

If it all fails best to take it back ASAP (Don't try rooting / taking it apart)

Just take it back to the store - they will replace it.

Had to do the same for an MSI Wind I got from Argos one of the touchpad buttons failed after 2 days, swapped in store no hassle at all.

"If there's a fault with the product...

We've made it easier!

If you bring it back to us within 30 days with your proof of purchase*, we'll give you a

replacement or a refund.

If you've had the product for up to 1 year, we'll repair the product or, if that's not possible, give you a replacement or, if that's not possible, a refund.

Please note that all large kitchen appliances are excluded from our normal 30 day guarantee, but if your item develops a fault within 30 days, call us on 0845 640 0800 and one of our advisors will assist you with your problem. If faulty and if it cannot be repaired we will arrange a replacement free of charge or you can opt for a refund.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

* If you had your item delivered, your order number which can be found on your order acknowledgement or delivery packaging counts as your receipt/proof of purchase."

And I think Argos replacement procedure is quicker and simpler than Orange's!

In my experience Argos have a very good returns policy for faulty goods - even those excluded from their usual "30 day" policy.

I have to date never had any problems returning a faulty item to them for a full refund, even months later. If it's faulty or not working as expected, take it back and get it refunded or exchanged!

Their 30 policy gives you additional rights to your legal rights.

Argos will give you a working phone.

If they won't give a you refund because your out of there 30 day guarantee then get a replacement with a new receipt and then immediately hand it back over and ask for a refund on the new phone ;)

makes them really hate you but it's the only way to deal with argos :)

Aren't Argos meant to be one of the best stores in the country for returns? I don't think you'll have much trouble with a broken item. It'll just be that they can't refund an unwanted item because of the sim being used.

Any UK store would have to refund or replace a faulty item whether they wanted to or not.

Thanks everyone so much for all the helpful replies =]

Im gonna take it back after work 2morrow morning. I work nights so its abit harder for me to sort stuff out, had to wait 2 and a half hours today to even get the phone, AND it was the last one in stock :) HA

Btw, i left it on charge while i was sleeping - ~7 hours, still nothing so it is, fuckedddd
