lag on keyboard?

Ok, when i type and message people, there is usually some lag in typing which is getting a bit annoying lol. Does anyone else have this? Its only lag in typing, rest of phone is fine but there are sometimes lag in loading homescreen ( got live wallpaper and some stuff on there) and sometimes freezes

I dont think i had lag with stock rom ( i flashed to the hungarian hedgehog rom which is stable i think) but its probably coz i have more apps and stuff taking up power?

So does anyone else have lag on custom roms lol?

Most of the time it's fine but yeah I have had a few issues - sometimes it just does not register me hitting a letter, which if I don't notice is annoying, other times It can be a little slow to respond.

Also rather annoyingly I seem to have some fingers that are better than others - I experience far more glitches using my index finger than my thumb - but that goes for navigation too *shrug*

I too observed this. Initially it was too irritating for me, try this

1. Disable vibration/sound feedback on ky presses
   
2. Try disabling spell check
   
3. Experiment with different keyboards, some are slower than others
   
4. Repeat this 100 times: I'll keep a fraction of dealy between keypresses... I'll keep a fraction of dealy between keypresses...
   

I've found XT9 to be fastest among the free ones, but I settled on modded HTC_IME for its customizations. I wonder if there is a multitouch keyboard which can save the day for SanF?

atm i just use android keyboard since i like its simplicity, htc_ime looks too crowded to me lol

i've found this issue as well, and like you said strangely enough using your thumb to navigate is a lot smoother than using your index finger, Go figure.

will try what gamesticker said and see if i have any joy.

Swiftkey doesnt seem to lag as much as the android one.
