Guest Phatrick Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Hi Guys, I was pretty sure that i rooted my HTC Desire when i first got it back in Sept, forgot which method i used but apparently if 'SuperUser Permissions' show up on your Apps Draw thats a sign that the phone is rooted. I just tried installing a few apps that require root but they keep saying that the phone needs to be Rooted before they can run. Upto this point im still not sure if my phone is rooted or not lol any advice? Thanks :) O2 Branded HTC Desire Android Version 2.2 Baseband 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 Kernel 2.6.32.15-gd96f2c0 Build 2.14.207.1 CL233777 release-keys Software 2.14.207.1 Browser Webkit 3.1
Guest EddyOS Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Did you get it new? It's on the o2 UK FroYo ROM at present... Turn the phone off and turn it on again holding volume down. Once on the white screen, select 'Recovery' and press power to select. If it comes up in a custom Recovery then you're rooted
Guest dreamdealer Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Never had any problems apart from Adblock with S-ON but some of the apps may need your phone to be S-OFF, if this isn't the root (no pun intended) of the problem, then just ignore this post.
