Guest Rossome Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Got it over a month ago, and it's been BRILLIANT, however this week I've noticed that it's now messing up the brightness for no reason (It will be normal for a bit and then WHOAH! Too bright! Then back to dim, mid-application, for no reason!). It's also not waking up when I touch the power button. It used to lock and turn the screen off, but now it's frequently just not waking up. It's still alive as if I hit the hard buttons it gives me a little vibration feedback and the lights are on, but the screen just won't react until I take the battery out. I installed a bunch of apps a couple of nights ago, mostly widget ones, and it's now various apps crash mid-use, even though I've uninstalled all the newer apps. Any ideas? I'm running a rooted stock Orange ROM. Thanks!
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 2 ideas number 1 : hardware problem. number 2 : app which eat the phone. can you see what is it running in memory ?
Guest ezablade Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 The brightness thing could just be the auto adjustment kicking in, if your hand covers the sensor, it thinks it's dark and dims the screen. The sensor is just to the left of the speaker slot on the top left of the screen, if you tilt the phone with the light in the right direction, you'll see two blue dots. One of those is the sensor.
Guest cartierv Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 (edited) What rooting app did you use ? UA ? I suspect rooting does make the phone less stable, i started getting crashes and reboots afterwards , though I don't know for sure it's that. Edited December 17, 2010 by cartierv
Guest Rossome Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Oops! Yes, brightness was my fault! I usually kill everything (I know it's bad, but I've been doing it for ages and it's alright), so there's usually no proper apps running. Is there a way to check what else is running which wouldn't be listed?
