Guest Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Look I know I've been stupid but in trying to get rid of the orang apps in my week old zte blade ( White ) I accidentally deleted a file that I thought was the orange boot up logo thing. Well it wasn't. I also did some other stuff that probably made things worse. Initially I tried to flash the rom on my pc, but that just wasn't happening so I rooted with universal androot and and the consequences are. 1. Gmail app has stopped working, when I try to open it I get an error message saying gmail has had to close unexpectedly and to try again( strangely it still syncs contacts and calendar, but not mail ). 2. I can't perform a factory reset ( just hangs forever on the green man ) . I know I've been incredibly stupid, but I'll be somebody's slave for life if anybody can help me out with this. Thanks in advance.
Guest thewarden Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Dont worry, its easily solved. you just need to do loads of reading. read this : http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...and-other-roms/ Then come round and clean out my garage, mow the lawns and make a start on building me a conservatory.

Thanks very much for that, I'll get reading straight away, and buy a pair of gardening gloves. (are you sure you wouldn't prefer a back rub ? ) I have done quite a bit of reading up on this already. On my computer desktop are what I am sure are the files required to flash with clockworkmod, but when I try to flash using the instructions I found on this site, I get an error message telling me that it's unable to flash. Neither can it perform the fastboot to reboot the phone. I'm not sure if the drivers are properly installed, when I look in device manager there is a big yellow question mark next to an item called 'Android'. Anyway I'm going to have a good read of the articles you've linked me to. Thanks again.
