Guest Cronnix Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 (edited) I am running 2.2 alpha 4, and been recently facing an issue with 3G connection. When I shutdown my Wifi connection (I use Wifi toggle widget for that), 3G won't start, despite my efforts to enable it via settings or VPN widget. Nothing works and the only solution is to reboot the phone. I can't think of any apps affecting it, the only app for network except for two I mentioned earlier I have is wifi buddy. I also noticed this starts to happen only after certain amount of time after reboot. When I tried to disable wifi about 20 mins after reboot, 3G kicked in automatically, however an hour after reboot it would not start. Same goes for the USB storage, PC wont detect the phone as a storage unless I reboot it (it does charge it thou). Any ideas on what is causing this? I know I am not the only one with the issues either. Here is a list of all apps I have installed: http://pastebin.com/et75uTWi Edited December 17, 2010 by Cronnix

Guest mbadestiny Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Anyone got nay ideas? Rather annoying haveing to reboot phone to get 3G going :/ Hi mate, I am very sure that this issue happens in my handset only when connection changes from 3G to 3G+. Do you also expereience the same ? it also appears that in custom roms 3G+ symbol is replaced by H (am I right ?? ) and there doesn't appear to be such issues. Can someone please confirm ? I am still using 2g settings on my phone (& base orange rom) to avoid losing connection & having to reset the settings. Can someone please advise if there's any way to fix this issue which is really annoying. Cheers,
Guest Cronnix Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 I found a temporary workaround to avoid reboot by enabling and disabling airplane mode, which seems to reset the 3G. I however never experienced H symbol you mention, only 2g, g, and e.

Well yes only option is to temporary reset 3G (by enabling / disabling airplane mode or enabling/disabling Use 2G only) but this is only a temporary option..not sure if this is a software / hardware or network bug :(
Guest mbadestiny Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Hello everyone, I am still struggling with 3G issue on my ZTE blade. This issue happens everytime I switch on 3G usage and when phone gets locked to 3G+ sign at top of screen. It just works for couple of mins before losing the connection (though it still shows 3G+ icon at top). I have read that there have been 3G issues on T-mobile network on Nexus one ? Shall I take it that there's no fix or this issue ? I am using virgin mobile network (guess they piggyback T-mobile network). Also is there a chance that replacing my sim might help sort this problem ? Just can't live with this problem now :( Any suggestions are most welcome Many Thanks,
