Hi everyone i need advice on modding the htc hero with the sense ui to work with the optimus

so far i have ubuntu 10.4 on my laptop and i am currently downloading the repo to setup the android enviroment but i havent a clue on how to mod other handsets rom any advice would be great plus any tutorials online would help
