Adobe Digital Editions - Overdrive library lending app

"Overdrive" is used by many libraries as their ebook lending software, and until last week it required the use of the Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) application software that does not run on Android, nor can it be linked. DRM-epub (ADE) based readers were produced by others, notably B&N (not much use to me in the UK because of the regional book agreement preventing purchases from the USA). If Adobe were not going to enable ADE for Android, why didn't Overdrive, I asked them. Now they have.

Overdrive Media Console can be downloaded from Google Marketplace, so you can now borrow ADE-DRM-ebooks from your public lending library by downloading them straight onto your Orange San Francisco.

You will need a library account number and pin number.

You need a Google mail account to access Google Marketplace, and download Overdrive Media Console.

You need an Adobe account to enable DRM records within Overdrive Media Console.

The Overdrive Media Software works directly with other repositories, see Overdrive web pages - although not many USA sources for me in the UK, as they have different copyright rules in the USA.

Mods - please pin this.
