Guest Len Ash Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) i have a custom rom hungarian hedgehog its 2.1 but doesnt seem to work lol I have Freakers BladeVillain ROM, also based on the Hungarian build, and it definitely works for me... very well. Wonder of there is an App or setting you have that is preventing it from working? Edited December 18, 2010 by Len Ash
Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 hmm..dont think so, i downloaded a brightness app earlier and set auto brightness on there but it hasnt really done much lol i only have standard apps installed like angry birds, and some few minor games, winamp for music, and widgets for system info, live wallpaper etc and just normal apps that help me everyday lol
Guest Arr Too Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 i have a custom rom hungarian hedgehog its 2.1 but doesnt seem to work lol Where did you get your phone? Is it an Orange San Francisco, or maybe the Finnish model (known to have sensor differences)?
Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 yea orange san francisco uk lol
Guest Arr Too Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Is it in a case of any sort? Or maybe something else is blocking the sensor?
Guest ko0l Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) You sure its not working? Mine worked on all the roms I've tried (2.1 and 2.2) and I reckon its too sensitive, I wave the phone around and the brightness changes dramatically, was really annoying. I turned it off. Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 no cases or anything - which reminds me i need to get a case haha incase i drop my phone or whatever well the brightness thing very rarely turns on even when im in complete darkness at night when im using it to like daytime now :)

I turned it off. +1 here Had to turn it off as it changed dramatically when switching orientation and while gaming (Moving hands / fingers over the sensor) Obvious ways to test would be to cover the sensor in a bright room / outside (blue dot next to the earpiece) and the screen should dim to lowest and then, when you remove your hand, should return. You do have the "auto brightness" box ticked right? Edited December 18, 2010 by Azurren
Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 well obviously i have it turned on lol!
Guest ezablade Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Running Froyo alpha 4 and auto-brightness works fine.
