No Caller ID??

Have a strange problem on my San Francisco.

I have contacts in my Phonebook but sometimes when people call me their name is not displayed, just the number comes up.

Anyone else had this problem?

Try looking at the contact list, and see if there numbers are correct...

(Mine add some -'s in once, like american numbers, which affected this :S)

No number is correct, also it is find in the sms app its just sometimes when my contacts call me :)

Hmm, okay, are the contacts that sometimes dont show up saved as +447 or 07 (Start of number)

I think the dialer app is a little sensitive with this stuff sometimes

They all start with 07 as I thought this may be the problem, sadly it made no difference :)

You could try downloading another dialer app, but im not sure wether its dialer that shows the numbers or not... If not it could just be the ROM you have installed?

Check that the numbers don't appear twice. If they do, the phone can't show an ID, as it doesn't know which to choose.

No they only appear once, and as said this problem only happens sometimes :)

I never used to have this problem on MoDaCo Custom Rom - r4 (2.1), but I recently switched to FLB-Froyo (2.2). Now I get the exact same problem as the OP. Did anyone ever come up with a solution to this?

I get the same problem on Japanese Jellyfish R9. I tried to install the ContactsProvider.apk but it just says "application not installed".

I had the same problem with JJR9, but didn't install anything. I realised that the contacts that synced with my Google account had their phone numbers hyphenated, so I just edited the hyphens out and they're displaying properly when calling now.

i had this problem while i was using flb froyo r6. since i switched to latest r10b last week everything is working good i synced contacts with facebook and now i see contacts name and picture normally....
