Guest Ralph Martin Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 (edited) Hmm. I just tried barnacle Wifi tethering - which worked OK. However, I now have a problem. After stopping Barnacle, I could not turn the Wifi back on. After rebooting the phone, and making sure it was unrooted, I can now turn the WiFi back on. It connects to the access point as before BUT I cannot make any connections any longer - to websites, or using ssh, etc. Has anyone seen this? Anyone know how to fix it? Needless to say, the phone is fairly useless if WiFi won't work... Edited December 19, 2010 by Ralph Martin
Guest Ralph Martin Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 This is getting bad. The problem still persists after reflashing the Stock ROM, and wiping cache / factory reset... Anyone have any ideas? With one network I can connect to the access point and get an IP address but no traffic goes across. With another network, I can see, can't connect to, the access point.
Guest Ralph Martin Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 Ho hum. New Firmware on my Fritz!box 7390 made a hash of the existing settings. Had to reflash it, revert to factory settings, and re-enter everything. Even so, the WiFi guest access doesn't work. But at least I can get in now with the regular WiFi network. Guest access not working is probably due to regular network having its own static IPs instead of usual 192.168 stuff, I suspect. Apologies to the Barnacle guys for a false alarm.
