Dell Streak New Guy

Hello My name is Bobby. I appreciate your time spent reading this and hopefully answering. I purchased my first android/smart phone recently from Best Buy in USA. I read a lot about this phone here and on other blogs (Dell Streak (Mini5)). I purchased it outright and immediately unlocked it and started using it with my T-Mobile service. Oops... I found out that here in the good old USA all Streaks are locked to ATT! Grrr... You can unlock them for other networks but they will only utilize 3G on ATT frequencies. T-Mobile uses 1700 and 2100, ATT uses two others I forget. Do you think that installing different firmware (ROM)? will allow me to utilize all four bands currently used here is the USA? I read the instructions posted by Paul for flashing new Firmware and it seems pretty simple. I was at first afraid of turning my phone into a paperweight by not being able to recover it to stock firmware but now see that the stock firmware is also available online to install! How do you guys do all this? I now have the "all you can eat" version of the Best Buy Geek Squad protection from Best Buy on this phone and can just smash it to pieces and get a new one if I flash beyond repair... If I am too new to this to attempt, please feel free to tell me so... Thanks for your time and effort!
