BBC I Player Download

Can you download from BBC I player to your Vega without having to be on the interent to watch it back? As im sure i read on here you can a week or so ago but i cant find that post now, Thanks.

I believe this is done through using a old version of myPlayer.apk if you google it you might be able to find more details.

Make sure it's an old version one though as they have now removed the iplayer feature and it is just a streaming app. So dont update once you have it

from a quick google it seems they've blocked old version of myplayer working too.

A recent update to iPlayer has stopped downloads using the "look like an iphone trick". See http://po-ru.com/diary/bbc-fights-against-openness-again/

Programs which capture the flash stream do still work, See http://www.infradead.org/get_iplayer/html/get_iplayer.html however this is not specific to Android but I suspect could be made to work but not trivial.

It might be an interesting project but if you have a PC (Windows, Linux OSX ) then downloading to that for play back on the tablet would be straight forward.

get_iplayer is the one i use on my ubuntu server. it still works fine.
