Guest AceOfSpades Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 What exactly is the issue with wifi? I've never had such a problem, I can leave wifi on, send the phone to sleep, wake it again and it reconnects just fine. Is it a router specific issue?

Is it a router specific issue? basically if u put it to sleep then let it be for a few inutes it will hit dip sleep and disconnect the wifi
Guest cartierv Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) The wifi thing is a pain in the ass. You have to turn off wifi then turn it back on again. And sometimes when it's not dropped the connection completely it says it's still connected but isn't.. Edited December 20, 2010 by cartierv

I was literally just about to change to froyo as was getting wound up by it - and had only started reading a few threads to decide which froyo to take. The one thing that I found works best - was to use wifi keep alive and to change the setting mentioned above to turn off when screen sleeps (which is counter intuitive - credit to riaz on a post here)
Guest Azurren Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) Actually there are two wifi issues both dubbed "the wifi issue" that really confuses people The original: Wifi will sleep and disconnect after a while of the phone sleeping (Regardless of settings) The other: After the above wifi will sometimes not turn back on leading to either a manual "Off - On", the blade "Wifi Fix app" or a complete reboot That's how it gets confusing.. People claim that they have "fixed" the wifi issue but mean number 2 which leads people trying to fix number one to jump through hoops for no reason We really need to re-name wifi issue 2 :) Edited December 20, 2010 by Azurren

To safe battery and stuff. The WiFi problem for me is that it just doesn't reconnect after wake up (and the app WiFI reconnect seems to work quite arbitrarily
