Putting .apk file on phone?

I have astro file manager btw.

I want to put back the stock orange launcher on my phone right. I downloaded the stock orange rom file, and found the .apk file which is called launcher2.apk

Then i moved it onto my phone via usb cable and went to astro and tried to launch it but it said it 'activity not found'

i think u have to unzip it but when i go to unzip it on my pc, on the winzip bit, it just says add to zip file not extract to??

the file im using is this..can someone please upload the .apk file of the orange stock launcher because i think i done mine all wrong lol

you don't have to unzip an .apk file.

it should install when you select it in astro, if it doesnt install the app installer app.

i tried both and i tried not unzipping it as well

think im missing a file. when i try to use astro to launch it, it says acitvity not found - com.android.launcher2

where do i find this file? have searched for it in the stock rom but cant find it :)

I'm a bit stumped to be honest, it should be working. perhaps its the apk file itself thats the problem?

i checked and its the same .apk file in the 2 different stock rom threads.

i downloaded the .com.android.launcher2 from google but it still doesnt work :)

you'd be better off if you get rid of the stock rom anyway

all you need to do to change the lockscreen wallpaper is longpress anywhere on the start screen, select wallpaper then select lockscreen.

im using launcherpro, when i select wallpaper, then no option on lockscreen. Are you running custom rom?
