Guest Fretking Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 After testing quite a few ROMS, I can confirm that the best one so far is the Finnish Fillyjonk RLS2 Lite. It can be found here: http://www.androidguide.co.uk/releases?device=129 So if you are thinking about flashing a new ROM, I strongly recommend this one, hope it helps.
Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 do you have the rom on atm? can u check for me if it comes with the orange stock launcher please? And if it doesnt, is it possible to change your lockscreen wallpaper with your current launcher? thanks

Guest Fretking Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 can't find a file explorer installed
Guest Len Ash Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 (edited) can't find a file explorer installed IMHO - Don't agree for several reasons - the ROM (RLS2 on 2 Blades) is slow and jerky, has a tendency to reboot randomly and has very poor WiFi from the box (though it is straightforward to steal the Hungarian WiFi folder) It does have good power usage.... ... though you have an opinion, of course. Suggest users try it for a few days in anger.... Edited December 19, 2010 by Len Ash

Guest Len Ash Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 Why are you recommending it? Features & benefits please :) The BladeVillain by Freekers is the one I've kept coming back to as a fully usable ROM. I use the Fat version, but remove some of the apps prior to copying to the SD card (my taste) Just wish the WiFi (on all ROMs) was less flakey....! Bit of an enthusiasm killer....
Guest Fretking Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 Why are you recommending it? Features & benefits please :) I recommend it because from all the roms I've tried this one works best for me, benefits: it's fast, everything works fine so far, wifi was mentioned to be poor but works fine for me and it doesn't reboot randomly like was said before, it has a good battery life like was said before and it has only the essential apps installed making it in my opinion a fast clean rom, but I'm open to suggestions, I'm always willing to try new roms specialy 2.2 ones, which so far haven't managed to find a really good one.

Thank you for posting back :) I use a standard rom which is debranded and I have added loads of apps. It works very well with no errors. I have tried other roms but reverted back. I look forward to a rom that takes us forward as many of the changes I read about are cosmetic or don't offer anything beneficial to that I already have.

Guest rwalton159 Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 can you post a link to the rom you are using, thanks Its the OUK_P729BV1.0.0B05-update-stock-blade-signed http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.p...de-unsigned.zip However, I have stripped out all the Orange stuff and added co-pilot for sat nav and k-9 mail and loads of other apps. :)
Guest clivec Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 I have to say, and from a point of having tried every rom available bar the early 2.3 thats available, I keep comimg back to paul's alpha 4 froyo. I use it with the R6 gingerbread theme, gingerbread k'board and gingerbread launcher. Other than the poxy wifi issue that plagues all blade roms its absolutely faultless, smoothest i've found bar none (hw acceleration enabled). If I have one minor niggle it's that you can run out of app memory quiite quickly, although apps2sd can sort that out, i'm just too damn lazy to copy sd contents off etc etc.. I am using the sf as a secondary phone and a bit of a toy to be honest so I don't mind flashing the pants off it as I have my main phone left alone, so I can play all I like. I can highly recommend it.
Guest heavyduty00 Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 does pauls alpha 4 froyo have the option to change wallpaper on lockscreen?

Guest clivec Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 does pauls alpha 4 froyo have the option to change wallpaper on lockscreen? If you mean separately from the homescreen wallpaper then no, but obviously the wallpaper can be changed.
