Its always interesting to see what people have planned! one of the reasons is the challenge to change the OS to your liking. 2. it has the tegra 2 chip in a £250 quid shell quite alot less then others are selling for.

I'll 2nd that! Its got to be the best VFM tablet on the market - made that much better by the great community here on Modaco.
Guest thedicemaster Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Can it run any 3d games which the galaxy can run - why are you lot interested + buying one of these devices.... no. but that's got nothing to do with power, and all with devs not bothering with high-resolution support yet. a lot of games will still work fine, and one i can certainly recommend is pocket legends. pocket legends plays great on the (for android) huge screen, and the tegra makes sure it runs perfectly smooth. my main reason for ignoring the cheaper archos 70 was definitely the tegra 2, which has about twice as much cpu power as the galaxy tab(which is twice as expensive btw)
Guest godinandroid Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 I've already ordered one (finally!) but what I would love to be able to do is control it using my Desire HD, so that I can plug into the TV using the HDMI and then start a film going, do ff rw and volume etc using my phone.

Not sure if there is an App for that exactly but I can control media playback ect on my laptop with my Vega using Gmote. Also enabeling USB Host would allow you to use a wirless keyboard and mouse. The most impressive thing about the Vega is ....... anything is possible :) It's just a very cool bit of kit.
Guest warriorscot Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 A few of the 3D games that are for the Tab from gamesloft run but lots don't even though they should be compatible they don't work. Best one so far seems to be asphalt 5 if you are into real 3D games most of the others don't seem to for one reason or another. A lot of it is that they don't even support the tab that well either and rely on hardware buttons that the tablets lack and the work arounds for tablet only are rubbish. Lots of other games work really well. I spend most of my time using it to connect to my PC either to control it or view files off it. Basically untethering me from my desk so its brilliant for that as it combines nicely my phone and ereader into something better than both for that purpose.
Guest RenegadeAndy Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Love this thread! Excites me with possibilites! Didnt know the tegra 2 was 2 times as powerful as the galaxy chip - then why are there no applications that demand that power out of it yet then! Other than HD playback!
Guest jasonic8 Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) If you have a display/device that is a UPnP Renderer (an xbox360 or built-into your TV) then you can wirelessly stream video to that device from the vega using UPnPlayer. You can pause it from there, and direct content on a media server or local SD card to the remote display. Edited December 20, 2010 by jasonic8
Guest warriorscot Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Samsung were trying to use their own design first but they just decided to change to Tegra 2 so the newer versions will be proper Tegra 2 tablets. Basically the samsung version of the motorola tablets that google are using to design newer versions of android.

Asphalt 5 doesn't work in full screen for me :) Tried tweaking with spate parts and restart in between but it only shows ~2/3 screen ( bottom L) Angry birds works full screen but does crash occasionally. What else works I wonder... Will have to experiment. Grr
