i downloaded the 2.5.0.9 clockworkmod recovery here but when i move it into a folder after downloading it , it changes to a zip file??? Suposed to be .img file???

Maybe because i already had this before? Because I already flashed it to a custom rom few days ago but flashed it to a stock rom today. Now want to flash back to a custom rom..

Files don't change extensions themselves - you're obviously doing something wrong. If you're having difficulties with this you may wish to re-think flashing - if you flash to the wrong partition, or try to flash the wrong file you'll have a hell of a time getting your device operational again if you're not technically savvy.

i used this link btw which should be right

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...rkmod-recovery/

why is it a .zip file when i move it into my android folder on c drive?? IT downloads as recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.9-modaco-r2-blade.img !!! driving me crazy, anyone can help me?

I'm not sure i'm on the right tracks here, but i do remember when we started this Blade forum we had some problems with people ending up with wrong filename extensions, i think it was tracked down to which browser you downloaded with, some where adding an extension. Try right-clicking and displaying 'Properties' (assuming windows) once file is downloaded and make sure it is correctly saying .img not .img.zip. It may not be this but it is the only thing that comes to mind.

You're flashing the recovery partition - I'd want to be more sure than 'thinking' it would work.

Check the MD5 of the one you've downloaded with the one written on the post you linked to. If they match you're good to go, if not it's probably not a good idea to flash it.

it is like the best anti virus?!:)

No Way Ever, AVG or Avast Are The Best In My Opinion They Properly Find And Delete Virus's!

lol at norton.

From the sounds of what you did it was never downloading as the wrong file type - your OS was just set to open .img files with winzip. The file was still .img, it was just associated with winzip.

Phha :L :) ;)

We have to test our software and sites on a Norton installed PC - because it messes about with javascript that it doesnt like the look of.

To remind ourselves its the PC with Norton on - the desktop is a large grinning photo of Graham Norton.

Ahh :)

Just be glad he's grinning. The last person to leave his desktop unlocked at my work while he went for a coffee was 'donated' a new desktop wallpaper...
