Guest TomskWomble Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Orange San Francisco, as it comes out the box ROM. When editing a text message (or anything for that matter) how do I move the cursor ONE character at time? On my WinMo phone it had a hardware d-pad. On my Archois 5IT the Android keyboard has a couple of lewft/right cursor keys. On my SanFran I stab roughly to the right of where I want to edit, delete a few characters and retype.

One that does is TouchPal, although i'm sure there are others. In TouchPal just long press the bottom left-hand key displaying a pencil with a full stop underneath it and it will take you to the cursor controls you want.
Guest Magnets Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 with HTC_IME you can use the volume keys to move characters.
Guest oh!dougal Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) with HTC_IME you can use the volume keys to move characters. That Volume Key functionality is under User Interface in the HTC_IME Settings. TouchPal offers a cursor control keypad (hold down the pencil ("Edit") key ...) Edited December 20, 2010 by oh!dougal

Guest Stuart_f Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 The swype keyboard has arrows. Just swype from the swype icon to the "SYM" key. (They don't make this feature obvious though!)
