Guest gr_66 Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Hello, I was trying to install USB Host script. Followed all the guid, but unsuccessful, script give me permission error. Also noticed that I couldn't copy file via ADB push flash_image /data/local/ . Checked the destination folder and it's empty. Then I tried to install RootExplorer, Market enabler - all of these needs SU rights, but no success. Tried to install SUPERUSER via Market and UniversalAndroot - no success, what could be the cause of this. Seems like device is not ROOTED PS. My device is OEM P10AN01 (exact the same as Advent, except it was already USB Host) but after flashing with Advent ROM is became USB slave.
Guest Mr.Nike Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 same problem... I just tried to install the same apps and it seems that the device is not rooted... How is it possible?
Guest warriorscot Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Had that problem, turned out something went amiss when installing the custom ROM meant that it SU wasn't working so no apps could be elevated to SU access. Baked a new one and reinstalled and it was fine so I would just give that a go first.

Did full reinstall starting from 1.06.5 official and then Custom ROM from Pauls (not from the Kitchen) but nothing, same result. What exactly you did different then you rooted your device?

What exactly you did different then you rooted your device? The "fix permissions" in CWM would fix this problem.

What exactly you did different then you rooted your device? Installing 1.06.5 and then installing r5 of the Custom ROM should get you root. Care to post the output from terminal when you ran the Custom ROM install script? You can also try Paul's Visionary app to get temporary/permanent root access.

Now it's rooted with PERMROOT, thank you, will try now USB Host again
Guest lnux9898 Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 Ok, but what the CWM??? and how it fixes permissions? CWM - ClockWorkMod, a recovery image. Great for creating a full backup among other things. Read through the instructions carefully before installing. More info can be found in the ClockWorkMod thread. Glad that Visionary did the trick for you.
