Guest lolwot Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 Yesterday the Orange shop gave me a LCD SF one, which is on the top of this picture. Two weeks they gave me a OLED SF, which is on the bottom. That product code must be the difference between an OLED and LCD one...
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 in your country here i have 216663 tft
Guest 4TecH Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 I have a product code no. 1118, but it's an LCD...
Guest wakaru Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 (edited) This is just based on my own experience so It may not be right 100%, but I'd say that if the black/orange sticker with the information about the orange wednesdays etcetera has been applied to the side of the box (usually left-side), this is an OLED model, however if it has been applied to the front of the box, covering the flap in the centre, this is an LCD model. Not quite true. Mine is over the flap and is OLED. Product code 1118. Edited December 21, 2010 by Guest
Guest fonix232 Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 As I see, the TFT version's box' refurbishing sign is more like yellow while the OLED's is green. Or is it only the picture?
Guest Arr Too Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 I think we may have established that the "Glass" entry in the CHIPINFO dialler code is authoritative about OLED vs TFT (and there may be two TFT variants).

Guest Malkatraz Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) Couldn't it be that 1118's are either oled/tft while the 1122's are all tft? Edited December 23, 2010 by Malkatraz
Guest cecanor Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Couldn't it be that 1118's are either oled/tft while the 1122's are all tft? I changed my TFT one in Orange Store, it was shutting down itself. Then luckily they gave me an OLED one. :) I asked them if there is a way to understand if it is OLED or TFT. And he said there is no way without opening it. There was just one in stock and I checked it, it was an OLED one (Model Number is finishing with 05) After, I looked two boxes, they were absolutely same. Just IMEI and sim number changes. There is no way to understand looking on boxes.

Guest Stuart_f Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 that just kills the whole topic lol! :) I'm not so sure. Is model number the same as rom version? I remain unconvinced that the poster actually has a oled phone and that it wasn't a return from someone else who had already flashed it.

I remain unconvinced that the poster actually has a oled phone and that it wasn't a return from someone else who had already flashed it. I went hunting today, and managed to find an OLED one. Last one in the store's old stock. I managed to open both boxes and compare both phones: TFT had 1122 on the box, and version B08. OLED had 1118 on the box, and version B05. Might not be a trend, but its what i saw today. Ali
Guest NightSt@lk3r Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 My box has OZTN1120 and its a B08 TFT model.

Any phones with model number higher than 1118 are definitely TFT's, whereas 1118's could be either. So if you get a 1122 theres a 100% chance its a TFT, but if the box has 1118 then its a lucky dip and theres a chance its an oled.
Guest Treacles Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 The bottom sticker that says PAYG on it... The oled in the first picture has a 36 on the end, as does mine, maybe this is wat distinguish's them? :S
