Guest Loconinja Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 I have found that the Swype included in the 2.2. update (I'm currently on 309 build) is not as accurate as the Beta I was using previously. It constantly gets words wrong. If I try to install the Beta again, it says the "Swype is already installed". Is this version inferior, or do I just need to experiment with the settings?

I much prefer the beta so I eradicated the included build and installed the new As posted previously, Rename or delete system/app/swype.apk and system/lib/lib.swype.core You can just append .bak to the names. Delete or move data/data/com.swype.whatever it is Reboot, you must reboot! Run the swype installer, the latest has an option for a 2mb file rather than 10mb as long as you speak english or spanish Edited December 21, 2010 by fards
Guest ClippinWings Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 (edited) It IS a settings issue. I know because I thought the same thing... So I checked the Swype settings and realized that the slider for Speed vs Accuracy was set pretty far toward the Speed side... if it was a 0-100 scale it was at about 30, when it had been at about 70 on the beta... I moved my slider over and all is as it should be. Edited December 21, 2010 by ClippinWings
