Mid Dec was the previously announced release timeframe.

The fact that several different people have posted YouTube videos is what suggests to me that the device is now available.

EDIT - added: 4 of those videos were posted 3 weeks ago -- so I'm guessing a journo/blogger (or even staffer) with sample/demo units rather than real production examples.

A little more patience is STILL needed!

The leaks were of early development builds, months old.

Production quality firmware is something entirely different!

We need to try and get some Japanese contacts, or just hope that they will come to us ...

I may try and ask my Japanese teacher if he has any Android-inclined friends at home, who maybe could help us (himself, he's a rather tough Apple fan, iPhone, iPad and all, but a fine geek and a great chap :-) ). I've got a lesson tomorrow, so keep fingers crossed!

What worries me is that there's no mention of FM-radio on the Japanese Blade. I hope it will work, cos that's the only thing i miss from the FroYo ROM.

We shouldn't expect to much since he was last online on youtube 1 month ago...:) If he uses his daily mailadress for the youtube account we might be lucky otherwise i don't see this way to be successful

yes mine is a MSM7227-1 (french version) and i have froyo 2.2

It is one and the same processor. There is no difference.
