Guest amleto Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) got rid of the orange ROM a few days ago. Had the awful alarm sound wake me up this morning and thought "right, that has to go!". Couldn't find any way of changing the alarm sounds on the phone so thought I'd have to do something like ringdroid + mp3s. Thus leading me on to trying to mount my phone again. Only now it doesn't mount. No 'bing bong' from win 7. no usb notification on the phone. any ideas? :) p.s. installed the usb drivers already. rom info: alpha3-update-modacocustomrom-blade-kitchen-unsigned.zip kernel: 2.6.32.9-perfzte-kernel@zdroid0smt build number: uni_cn_v880 1.0 (mcr alpha 3) Edited December 22, 2010 by amleto

If you boot into Colockwork and enable USB MS can you mount it then?

Guest Rusty! Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Enable USB debugging, then adb devices will tell you if it can 'see' your phone or not.

Guest amleto Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) hmmm, dunno what was up with it. after mounting through clockwork, I left the usb cable in and rebooted. It prompted for mounting fine. I pulled the plug out and put it back in. It prompted again so everything seems fine now  Although I still need to change that damned alarm sound. thanks for you help anyway :) Edited December 22, 2010 by amleto

Guest Rusty! Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) Although I still need to change that damned alarm sound. Add .MP3's to /sdcard/media/audio/alarms Edit: Also for other tones, use: /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones /sdcard/media/audio/notifications Edited December 22, 2010 by Rusty!
Guest amleto Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Add .MP3's to /sdcard/media/audio/alarms will that make a menu appear somewhere? because otherwise, how do i select which one from that folder?
Guest Rusty! Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 You should then be able to pick the tone you want from the list in the clock app.
Guest amleto Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 You should then be able to pick the tone you want from the list in the clock app. ahh, you have to set it per alarm. I was looking for a 'global' setting somewhere. is there anyway to set the default?
Guest Rusty! Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 'Fraid not, you'll just have to remember to change it when you set an alarm.

There is, but it's a bit of a faff: If you pull, edit and then push back your build.prop file you should be able to add (or update) a line with: ro.config.alarm_alert=SomeTune.mp3 But I think SomeTune.mp3 might have to be present in /system/media/audio/alarms so you may have to push the mp3 there as well. Personally I'd just remember to change it when setting up the alarm! :)
