Guest Dr00g Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Which one would people recommend? I want to buy an android phone and have got it down to these two; I am not sure which one to get so would appreciate any help that you could give me :) Thank you.
Guest Krinyo Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 SF: better screen, slick design... Wildfire: slower processor, but more memory and official 2.2 update (!)...
Guest ptdborth Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 SF: better screen, slick design... Wildfire: slower processor, but more memory and official 2.2 update (!)... Hasn't the SF got more RAM? I'm pretty sure it has..
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 SF for the screen :) 480 X 800 pixels.
Guest rayraven Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) ^More memory how? SF has 512 MB RAM and the Wildfire has 384. The SF beats the Wildfire in every area except build quality. The Wildfire has great build quality, but a crappy screen. QVGA is not for smartphones, not these days. SF is the way to go IMO. P.S: This is the blade forum for crying out loud, what were you expecting anyway? :) Edited December 22, 2010 by rayraven
Guest samjam Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 I had to turn on my old Kaiser today for something - it has the same resolution screen as the Wildfire - it was so weird to use a tiny screen with such little information on.

Guest Gryphonic Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) This is the Blade forum - you're only going to get one response! Isn't the blade cheaper aswell? On the Angry Birds front - lags badly on the stock 2.1 rom, but with 2.2 its perfectly playable Edited December 22, 2010 by Gryphonic
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 yes SF 169 euros wildfire 209 euros at the same shop
Guest Rusty! Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Also to get Angry Birds running on a Wildfire, you have to lock/unlock the screen before opening it
Guest Azurren Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Wildfires good points: HTC (Build quality) Sense UI Camera Everything else is better on the blade for less money. Honestly this is a no briner :)
Guest Swimmerboy Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Honestly this is a no briner :) ;)
Guest Dr00g Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 Thanks, I will pop into my orange shop in the next few days, hopefully they'll have it in before christmas. On the Froyo front though, will the ROMs access 2.2 features like running apps from memory card?sorry for seeming thick

Guest nvidiax Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 I switched to the SF from the Wildfire and I only miss the build quality. It couldn't play any games and the UI lag was unbelievable. There is also a much bigger Blade community.

Guest Chrisund123 Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) I have a wildfire, and I've just gotten the missus a Orange SF for Xmas. After updating the WF to froyo on Monday it's gotten a lot snappier, but it's definately entry level, even more so than the SF looking at the spec sheet... Having held the SF while I was unlocking it and debranding it though, the SF definately feels a bit cheap and plasticy compared to the WF. I'll let you know how I think the SF holds up to proper use once the GF has unwrapped it :) PS - Hi Rusty! ;) Edited December 22, 2010 by Chrisund123
Guest Azurren Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) ;) Stupid spell check :) Meh it made you happy I'll leave it in there :D Errrrrr..... Ya I know.. It may really suck on the wildfire but some people would still want it Edited December 22, 2010 by Azurren
Guest veehexx Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 wf, sf and the legend were the phones i was looking at (also desire/nexus, but expensive and out of budget). SF won down to overall cost and spec. if it wasnt the SF, i'd of get the legend; it's a WF but with decent res screen, although a bit more expensive.

Given the fact this is a ZTE Blade sub forum, my guess is that nearly everyone one here is going to say, ahh yeah, the blade is a much better phone lol. But seriously, the Wildfire is twice the price, has a crappy qvga screen, literally quarter of the size, and a lesser quality display overall anyway, it has a slower CPU, it doesn't have a GPU at all, so it can't do live wallpaper, shall I go on?
