Guest przybylak Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 hi all, I am in need of assistance. Need fixed before xmas. What I did: fresh out of the box, I took this San Francisco and loaded a new market app I found on XDA. It didn't work. At all. So, I installed an older vendorl.apk to revert back to the old market. From then on, FC all the time, as soon as it tries to communicate with the market at all. I reset all data - no impact. So, I tried re-flashing to various ROM's, both 2.1 and 2.2. NO IMPACT. Very weird. So I force removed Market with Titanium backup, reinstalled - still there. Where I am at now: I've cleared and formatted everything physically possible via Clockwork recovery. I believe the phone is now fresh and clear? I think my next step, when I get home from work, will be to install one of the 2.2 ROMs. I may need to do this via fastboot? I can find out how to do that. Does this sound like the logical next step? Or do I need to flash back to stock first? No idea. Any suggestions that could make this gift not a paper weight would be great. thanks.

You can always use the home screen selector to get rid of the orange home screen
