Guest positiveh Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Yesterday, I bought an Orange San Francisco (here in Portugal they call it Optimus San Francisco). I'm quite satisfied with it, but I wanted to remove the Orange crap, like game demos, etc, etc. So, I installed ClockworkMod and immediately created a full backup of the phone and then installed the MCR. The ROM works fine, the problem is that when I lock the phone or it goes to sleep and I try to wake it up, the screen stays black. This also happens when I install Superboot Root. I suspect this is happening because the screen may not be OLED. I restored the original backup I made before. I would like to know if the screen is OLED or TFT. The build number is OPT_P729BV1.0.0B03 Thanks in advance :3
Guest caballeropl Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Hi. It's easy to tell what sceen you've got. Just open a black image and see if you can see the backlight. If not then you have got an OLED screen. The screen lock problem occured to me after first flash. It all went fine when I flashed my SF with Sebastian404's latest ROM r7 http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-san-francisco/ It's compatible with both screens so you can flash it without any concern. There's portugese language as well.

As shown briefly in this video: The OLED's black is really black (like it's switched off), where the LCD you can still see a dark 'glow' from the backlight despite the black pixels.
Guest positiveh Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Thank you for your help guys, the screen is TFT, now I understand the problem. Thanks :3
Guest Hanks6 Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) should be very easy to tell. if small text is slightly fuzzy on close inspection and black is pure black at all times then it is OLED. OLED also gives off more of a glow and colour temperature is on the warm side compared to the TFT. pinky tinged as opposed to the TFT's cooler blue tone on whites. Edited December 23, 2010 by Hanks6
