Connect to a Ad-Hoc Wifi Spot?

Hello!

first of all: Great forum and great Custom ROM (Add on). it's a blast compared to stock.

my question is: I have tethering on my iphone + 5gb traffic / month. i want to use it as a wifi hotspot for my Advent VEGA (which is a POV Mobii, but that's just a clone, i flashed the advent vega firmware). i disabled WEP and everything on the iphone but i still have the same problem: i see the Ad - Hoc Wlan on the VEGA, i want to join it but then nothing happens... i've searched the web and some say to edit the wpa_*.conf files but even that didn't work for me..

can someone help me? The Ad-Hoc Wlan is definitly up and running on channel 11, my windows + ubuntu notebook can join it.
