Hi ALL!

I have ZTE X880-Blade (link) with buil number P729j_2GW900V2.2.0B01 and try to use recovery made by Sebastian404.

And unfortunetly got no success.

Flashing via fastboot comes good, but no action happens when I boot into recovery. Only green robot appear on screen.

Can I provide more info about this model for getting recovery working? And what is must be?

Hi everyone

Hope this isn't a stupid question

Had a great idea driving to work this morning and I need to ask someone better versed in Clockwork whether or not it will work

Phone A is mine - set up runnning great

Phone B belongs to my sister in law and has stock orange rom. Sister in law's blown away with my phone and wants hers runnning similarly, but lives far away so I only get to see her for a couple of hours at a time, and spending the whole of this messing about with her telephone would not go down at all well with my wife

If I do the following would I succeed in replicating my ROM, setup etc on her device in record time?

  1. install clockwork on her phone
  2. from within clockwork on my phone, backup my phone, then boot normally
  3. using dropbox / datacable / ftp / any other means, copy the clockwork backup folder from my phone on to my pc then on to her phone (from sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/ on mine to the same place on her sd card)
  4. open clockwork on hers, go to restore and restore from the backup I just dropped there
  5. boot up on hers, remove my google account details and put hers in instead
Would that work? Or is there something in the backup file that ties the backup to a unique device?

So that's one question, but if it would work it leads to others - there'd be a potential there surely for people to be uploading and sharing their own phone set ups, in the same ways as they do ROMs, themes etc

I'd try it out myself but I've only one phone close to hand, and plainly there are no problems with transferring a clockwork backup to the same phone

Another thing, maybe the rest of the world is already doing this, but I discovered FTP on my phone last night

Outstanding! I no longer need Drop box, data cables or anything like that!

File transfer by wireless between phone and desktop! And all through Astro, though File Expert is good too

Scratch that - SMB through Estrongs file explorer! try it, if you haven't

Hi,

The x880-blade is a new one on me...

if you use Romdump on your device and upload the resulting file to somewhere, and then PM me the link, I'll look into it for you...

you might be better off using the v72_alt version for now, the files will end up in a /romdump/ directory on your SDcard.

Its Tuesday, so that must be the day for the Perfect recovery....

Very nice,

Couple of question's if you've got a moment Seb

So is this ok to use with say your r0.3: de-softened ROM, and the old r8: de-orangeated ROM.

Will it hand over too ZTE-Blade Recovery Manager v0.26 ok?

Thanks for the great work as always.

is this still built against the 2.6.29 source or have you switched to the 2.6.32 source?

Its using the exact same kernal as 2.5.1.8, I've not been able to build the 2.6.32 kernel and have enough space left over to fit the recovery filesystem in... the froyo based devices have a large boot/recovery partition for a reason...

if you update RM's database it will recognize it, tho I'm going to push out 0.29 shortly...

yeah, your right, the older firmwares are not installable using this version of clockworkmod....

Hi Sebastian

Can I make the following suggestion.

On the About Tab, have the Recovery and Firmware text (just the versions you have) centred and possibly a different colour

EDIT: also do we know which ROMs use the old install/update method?

And what error message would a user See if they tried it?

Same question here. Which ROMs are supported?

Same question here. Which ROMs are supported?

As far as I know, all Froyo ROMs (at least what I've tried, JJ and MoDaCo are updater-script) and some 2.1 ROMs too (mostly Kallt's work).

Ok, first of all thanks for releasing this new version Seb!

But I wonder, what the advantage of this version is? I use 2.5.1.8 and it works well (and it even works with RM)

Maybe you could provide a little more information about this release in the first post...

I think there might be a bug in 3.0.0.5 when trying to unmount the SD card.

I tried mounting it and worked great but when i tried unmounting it didnt work.
