Guest chris9181 Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Ok ive tried Chomp sms for over a week its ok, im going Handcent see how that fairs what you guys using for sms options ?? ive got Bitesms on the iphone which is ok Handcent all the way for me, but i disable the notifications and use 'sms popup' app with it, as it is much better with larger contact picture
Guest cartierv Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 The stock sms seems fine to me. I tried Handscent - a lot of fuss about an app that tries to make sms look like aol chat. The bubble graphics are just hideous though you can pick a bit more of a more neutral theme.
Guest mcgpie Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 Have had SF (and Android) for only a couple of weeks. Found stock Android sms to be ok other than when trying to send an SMS message to contact groups so tried Handcent and now on ChompSMS. On the subject of sending a message to multiple recipients, one thing Handcent does do and it would appear that ChompSMS does not is to create separate "conversations" with each recipient of the message. In ChompSMS when I send an SMS to ten recipients I get a "Conversation" with ten outgoing messages but when each recipient replies, those replies are added into previous conversations I've had with them. (In Handcent you can set it so that sending an SMS to multiple recipients starts multiple conversations) Not tried GOsms - is it any good for sending to groups?
Guest Niks10 Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 OT for this thread, but how do I disable stock SMS once I install Handcent SMS? At the moment both stock and Handcent SMS pops up in notification when I receive SMS.
