Guest sipart Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 I used this for a short while on my San Fran but found it of little use as I was so used to using the hard buttons. http://www.appbrain.com/app/button-savior-...com.smart.swkey But it has been great on the Vega (and it would be good on other tablets as well) so I thought I'd share. It needs root - but as I understand it the Vega is rooted out the box - or so very easy to get root after modding with Paul's essential repack of the software image. I use my Vega in Landscape 98% of the time and have the Button Savior on the left as it interferes with the Launcher buttons (I use LauncherPro). Its essential for apps that go full screen (Gallery, SNES Emulator and many more) and much more intuitive than fiddling around with the hard buttons (which are sometimes no use in full screen apps). IMHO I feel its so good it would be great as an option in Paul's kitchen. I've posted in the "Android - Software - Paul's App of the Day" suggestion thread as well.
Guest remlap Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 That actually complements Launcher Pro very well, thanks for the suggestion.
Guest gdwhitehouse Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 That actually complements Launcher Pro very well, thanks for the suggestion. I have to agree that this seems like a great addition for the VEGA, and espcially for LauncherPro users. Thanks for the tip. G
Guest Graham Macleod Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 Fantastic tip! Now I can get rid of visual task switcher - thank goodness :-) Thanks so much.
Guest English Haze Posted December 25, 2010 Report Posted December 25, 2010 Best addition to the Vega since Paul's addons and launcher pro. Thanks!

Probably a root issue. Do you have stock software? I have Paul's repack with superuser app and when you click on other buttons in BS you get the granted superuser permissions pop-up.
Guest stevesilk51 Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 Yes agree, great addition, thanks for the recommendation. :(
Guest Prosody Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 Been using this for a while on my Vega and my HD2, great app (have it on the left and hold to open) sort of makes me wish I could get rid of the soft keys from the notification bar though. :/
Guest montage Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 Is there a way of hiding the top menu bar from all screens?
Guest ptbw Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 Yes agree, great addition, thanks for the recommendation. :( +1 works well.
Guest MaxiP Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 Excellent addition to the vega - thanks for the recommendation.

Guest rvdgeer Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 (edited) I modded the apk to my likings... It now has a 50% transparent black background and slightly nicer icons... (Whiter and better looking) If anyone's interested, please let me know and I'll post it, if that's not against forum rules... (Sorry, no screenshots available...) Edited December 27, 2010 by rvdgeer
Guest remlap Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 What would be great is if the little arrow was not there and you just swipe when needed in the location you have it placed at. I find it annoying otherwise.

I find it annoying otherwise. I guess it's quite easy to mod it with a 100% transparent 'pull-tab', but that would be confusing... Also replacing the button press with a swipe action (if possible) would be confusing, cause it would 'claim' the left-to-right or right-to-left swipe for any application... Wouldn't it?
Guest remlap Posted December 27, 2010 Report Posted December 27, 2010 Just the pull tab is stopping me from using it really, if you knew where the pull tab was I doubt it would be confusing?
