Guest diveboy2 Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 I've just updated to the paid for modaco and I'm trying to update the rom. I'm stuck almost straight away as I can do this: 07. On the PC go to 'Device manager', right click the "APX" device without drivers and choose to update the device driver I just can get the driver to update so it's just stuck with the yellow triangle in divice manager. Tried this on a w7 x64 and XP machine.
Guest JonnyDixon Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 Is yours the non flash version aswell, I managed to get a custom rom on but now my device wont boot :(

Guest princeotter Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 Yeah mine is the none flash version. I wasn't aware that would be an issue though. Sorry about yours... If it is showing APX then it means the PC is connecting. You should be able to reflash to stock firmware. When you get Device Manager showing Other Devices - ?APX have you just been trying to put the Vega into Recovery mode (ie the usual hold back button, hold power button, release power button, release power button routine described many times on the forum). If not try going into Recovery Mode with the Vega connected to PC and Device Manager open - if Device Manager 'refreshes' when you do the button pressing fandango and APX appears then you should then be able to go to the Firmware exe file - software1mage_v1.06_05-Vega_Final.exe or similar (which you would have downloaded from MyAdventVega) and just double click on it and it should reflash the Vega to stock firmware. I got concerned when it showed APX and I couldn't update drivers to get rid of it or get Android Phone device showing - but this worked for me. Unfortunately a lot of getting it back is down to patience - re-trying and re-trying if it doesn't work as it quite sensitive to getting the timing of the button pressing right. Good luck
Guest Higgsy Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 The non flash version is no different to the earlier version apart from the fact it has the firmware without flash. Mine is non flash version and works fine I have also booted into recovery a load of times with no problems.
