cant delete account on sf

hi all,ive just bought an orange sf unlocked and flashed,now i only learned about the existence of these phones yesterday so i know nothing/zilch...after reading all the reviews about the oled i didnt want to buy one from an orange shop and risk getting a tft (personal choice,i like the idea of black being black and the colours) so i looked on ebay and there was one within driving distance so i made an offer and bought it.

from the sound of the guy who had the phone he didnt know much about it,he had bought it from someone else prob on ebay already flashed and unlocked,i think im correct in saying he struggled with it and he ended up getting an iphone 4 on contract.

so i kind of felt uneasy about buying the phone because i know nothing either but figured i can learn and do what ever is needed to get the phone up and running how i want it.

the phone itself is in like new condition not a mark or scratch anywhere ive put my sim in (asda mobile) and made and received calls.

i wondered if i would come accross any problems seeing as the guy had obviously give up with it and bought an iphone and i have instantly...it wont let me remove the google account....it says i have to reset the phone to the defaults and lose all personal info then i can remove the account but when i do this the account is still there..

do i have to connect to the internet to do this..? or is something wrong like an app is using something that stops me deleting this account...or...am i better off reflashing the thing...

i bought it flashed because i hate the orange colour scheme and all the sneaky bits they put in to try and make money..

also are there any good links where i can read up on android and how the whole thing works,like the google account etc...seems very strange to me when im just used to copying numbers form a contact list to get going...!

i like the phone i suppose its just going to take a while to iron things out and get used to android...

If you go into settings, privacy, factory data reset it should remove the google account, probably worth going into the about phone section and letting us know what rom is on it too, it will affect some of the menus u have

Theres not really a wifi app, per se, just the setting of the wifi on/off and configuring the network in settings.

Once connected, its just like using a faster internet access point. Just open Internet or Market (once you have your account setup of course) to test.

does it have clockwork mod on it?turn on holding volume down button, to find out.

I would be tempted to reflash with pauls froyo rom (alpha 3), only thing u lose is FM radio

its looking like i will have to reflash it,is there a preffered one...like the froyo or maybe i should go for the easiest seeing as i dont really know what im doing...?

any thoughts...

Power off the phone, press and keep pressed the volume down button whilst turning the phone back on with power button, should boot into clockwork backup programme,

hi thanks for the detailed explanation,i tried this and all it does is keep trying to start i.e. the green android comes on and then off and then on and then off and thats all it does till i let go and then it starts..the phone works ok,but i cant delete an account already on so somethings not quite right,i would like to personalise it and know that everythings ok which it dosent look like it,maybe it was rooted badly somehow...

when im trying to remove the account it says...synch ie experiencing problems it will be back shortly...but thats all it ever says...a factory data reset dosent remove it either...

any help appreciated...cliff

also just tried to add my gmail account and it said couldnt establish a connection with the server your phone might not be configured for data...

ive browsed the internet on the phone with wifi..
