[Q] Videos on the Blade? Which codec and res?

Hi,

I played around to convert a DVD to watch on the SF.

Convert it with handbrake, mp4 h264 720x480 noninterlace 30fps. works fine on SGS 9000 with mplayer.

on SF mplayer dont play it.

mp4 get messed up. audio works, video is full of noise.

somebody knows which codec & res to use that it work ?

By default Handbrake's preset is Regular\Normal and any conversions I did wouldn't play with mVideoPlayer or the default vid player. Changing Handbrake preset to Apple\Universal worked for me but I must admit I've only converted 1 vid so far.

I usually just think of a target size ie - half hour shows around 250mb is good quality and reasonably small.

Container

Picture

- Width = 320 - 800 I choose 544x384 but will to play around to get full DVD res working.

- Keep Aspect Ratio = On

- Anamorphic = None

Video Filter

- Detelcine and Decomb = Default

- others Off or if source is DVD Interlace=fast

Video

- Video Codec = H.264 (x264)

- Quality = Constant Quality RF22 ( i used 20)

Audio

- Audio Code = AAC

- Mixdown = Stereo

- Samplerate = 44.1

- Bitrate 160

- DRC = 0

Advanced

file this in the line:

8x8dct=0:bframes=0:cabac=0:nofast-pskip=1:analyse=all:weightb=0:me=umh

which rom do you use ?

it doenst install on my blade mit finnish 2.1RLS4

vplayer doesnt work because cpu of blade not supported yet.

tried rockplayer but hardwareacc hangs and software decode is too slow :(

some ideas ?
