How To Use My Unlocked Orange San Francisco as a Modem for Laptop

Hey all i have literally just bought this beautiful Orange San Francisco yesterday and have been stuck amongst some things until finding out about amazing Modaco.

This is ky very first android and I really need help in using my Unlocked T-Mobile San Fran as a modem for internet access to my laptop.

If someone can provide really simple-to-follow/understand steps with all the neccessary dial codes or apn settings if needed please. I need your help please! Thanks and mrry christmas :(

Settings -> Wireless & Networks ->Tethering & Portable hotspots -> USB Tethering ON

This is for any 2.2 based Rom

If you have a 2.1 Rom then you need superuser and barnacle

Never heard of superuser and barnacle, but I have Blade working as a modem with my laptop.

The Finnish Saunalahti version of Blade came with 2.1 and ZTE Join Me- software.

First change phone to usb debugging mode.

In JoinMe go to Internet-SnapDialer-Others- and change apn-settings according to your operator settings.

I have Modaco 2.2 ROM and enabled this option. The new local network connection appiared in sytem(Windows XP) and connection is on but no data transmition, packets are send but not not received, internet in phone woks well.

Is it a becouse Windows XP is incompatiblewith Android 2.2 tethering?

PdaNet works but looks likes slowly.

hello, wondering if anyone can help me with the USB tether,

I have the tether program running on my phone (cyanogen 7.1.0) and the tether program running on my computer (win 7x64) but all i seem to get is multiple "CHECKING PHONE STATUS" in the box

if i check the connection on my puter it reports unable to resolve DNS or something to that effect,

can anyone make any suggestions?
