Can you give me the full error, as well as what rom you're using?

could you please give me a proper guide to follow to install custom roms, im planning on installing the liquid metal rom by dario. I think with a proper guide i should be able to do it myself. As for the rom i was using- stock acer eclair, trying to change it to liquid metal.

Do you have the Malez recovery working?

http://code.google.com/p/acer-liquid-malez...ki/howToInstall

What do you mean by access denied? Where when why?

Keep digging around MoDaCo...All of you questions are answered, read up, try, and then ask specific questions.

Back in August it took me a while to get to the bottom of all my questions.

These are for LCR but most ROMs are installed the same way

hi,

I managed to install the bin 4.002.14.EMEA.GEN1_A22F_A_256_bin and flashed it. I plan to install dario's froyo metal v2.75 lite. Malez recovery went well and it said reboot phone in recovery mode (volume down+camera+start) and i did that, the screen with some stuff written on it is coming(recovery mode i guess).

i can see this:

partition checksum

splash1:chkcum =8ba9da08 OK

boot:chksum =57c4a49a OK

recovery:chksum=d6ce8999 !=002152e0 **fail** (its in red color)

system:chksum =23c8dfa3 OK

=========

<<FAIL>> (in red)

thats all the phone stops. I dont know how to switch it off or even how to change the screen.

Please help me!!

thanks in advance.

Pull the battery. Make sure you're hitting volume down + cam + power. That's partition chksum.

I had this problem too! Flashed the BIN back to 4.002.08. You can find the instructions how to do so here: http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&amp...t&p=1608913 (Under "4.1- How to flash a .bin file"), then download this: http://hotfile.com/dl/80485969/1628600/4.0...05_bin.zip.html IF YOU HAVE A LIQUID E!!!! (or Ferrari, I think). However, WATCH OUT! FLASHING BIN FILES IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, BE PATIENT WHILE DOING IT, IT IS CRUCIAL! AFTER YOU CLICK THE START BUTTON, BE ATLEAST 1 METRE AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER AND PHONE WHILE IT'S DOING IT!!! It is an extremely SCARY experience. Trust me. You will hear your phone disconnect during it. But please, just let it go, and WAIT. Don't touch ANYTHING, until it says it's finished ;)

If you do not have a Liquid E, choose the correct one in this topic: http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...act-collection/ (Thank you so much, Kenelm!). Again, WATCH OUT, USE THE CORRECT BIN!

If you need any more help, PM me. I may have 3 posts (at the time of posting this), but I know how to handle the Liquid.

And as for you, parithosh93, Franc3s and Ramdanih, you all got that problem because you had USB connected to your computer (maby even charger, I haven't checked if that also makes it fail)! I don't know why either, but that ALWAYS is the case for me. Whenever I get that message, I booted into recovery with USB connected to my computer.

The problem with the exclamation mark and an Android puppet/whatever they call that ugly green dude, is the 4.002.14 update of the Acer Liquid. Follow the above instructions to change back to .08. It is (to my knowledge) the only way to fix it. I think they're trying to prevent flashing with the .14 update. They failed.
