SanFrancisco v motorola defy

I've just noticed that the motorola defy can be had fir quite cheap, £100 in some cases and send to have a decent spec, better than san francisco uh many areas, such as camera, graphics, memory. however it is on 2.1 which leads me to think the phone will not be as "smooth" as the san francisco is on 2.2 meaning those extra features are wasted. the defy will get 2'2 some time later next year but san fran will probably have 2.3 by then considering the work on the forum, that's another thing there is little development for the Defy as well.

Taking these points into consideration is san fran (on 2.2) the better usable phone than the feature packed Defy (2.1)?

Where can you get a defy for that cheap? Defy still wins hands down.

+1, i'd choose the defy anyday.

But, afaik it's price is around £250, where are you getting it for £100?

I was just browsing through some contact offers actually should have mentioned as I need one of those a well.

That figure of around 100 was calculated by taking into account the value of the line rental.

Here's a link where many have been able to get the phone for £15, with contract @ £10pm for 24 month. The contact I value at around £5 meaning the phone is about 130

Maybe for you those contracts are worth £x amount, but for many of us they are worthless so the cost of the defy (if we could even get the deal offered in the link, others haven't been able to) would be £250+ if we went for it.

A shame really, if a defy really had been available for £100 I'd have been all over it.

Yh I think I did word it a Bit uselessly. Still if both were around the same price (value to you) would blade trump it? I never used to like motorola but hear they've become better since using android

The phone alone would trump the blade, but when I buy a phone, I think very hard about the community. So it's kinda a throw up :(

Like rem1x says, community activity is important, but if it was going to be my main phone then I'd take the defy over the blade any day of the week.

The blade is a nice phone to play about with, the defy is a fantastically built bit of kit.
